The Sunray Shadow needs no intro as it has exploded onto the salmon scene in the last few years as anglers become aquaint with its amazing powers to wake up the laziest of salmon. This fly was invented on the river Laerdal Norway and it has terrorised salmon ever since! Always tied with a slightly bigger head than most other salmon flies as it is supposed to suggest the silhouette of a sandeel.
So for 2025 we have decided to add another option to the mix, RS Style, UV has become a major player in our flies recently so these Laerdal will be adorned with it for starters and we will also add neon head options in green and orange to further help wake up docile salmon. the set of 3 will be tied on aluminium tubes to begin with closely followed by copper tubes to get down in front of salmon early in the season. Fishing this fly at depth is not usually associated with this style of salmon tube but why not try it? You may have a few more hookups with less of the usual surface drama.
